Letellier Material Handling Equipment, Inc. provides complete solutions for the design and manufacture of specialty overhead lifting equipment.
Since 1974, LMHE has been manufacturing high quality overhead lifting devices to satisfy the requirements of our customers in many diverse industries.
LMHE, Inc. features over 650 stock items for solutions to most industry standard product requirements with our "Rapid Ship" program. Our flexibility and experience allows us to design and manufacture custom solutions for your most challenging projects.

1972 was the year Ron Letellier started manufacturing un-welded oblongs, j-hooks, and other end fittings for local distributors.
Illinois Sling and Specialty, Inc. was incorporated in 1974 as a direct sales company of wire rope, nylon, and chain products. At this time, Mr. Letellier moved his operations to a 2,000 sq. ft. building in South Holland, IL. A variety of special hooks and lifting devices were manufactured at this new facility.
In 1976, Mr. Letellier separated operations from Illinois Sling and Specialty to form Letellier Material Handling Equipment (LMHE). LMHE was incorporated in May 1978, with a mission to expand the distribution network and establish a line of standard rigging products, mostly upper and lower end fittings for wire rope, nylon, and chain slings.
Between the years of 1978 and 1994, LMHE continued to prosper and grow. Significant investments and improvements were made in equipment and the facility to support the needs of our growing customer base. The facility was increased to 12,000 sq. ft. Projects included work for Naval Mine Warfare and NASA.
In 1998, LMHE moved to it's present location which comprises of (2) buildings totaling 30,000 sq. ft. with (4) 10 ton overhead crane systems. LMHE is located at 16650 State Street, South Holland, Illinois.
In December of 2010 LMHE was acquired by the Peerless Industrial Group. A company who is recognized as a national leader in the chain industry with a reputation for excellence in product quality and service.

LMHE has many exciting projects as we start 2011. This new website is an example of how LMHE is focused on being a leader in the lifting equipment industry.
Wind Energy - LMHE has been providing Lifting Solutions in Wind Energy since 2004. An example of our creative work is featured in the Industries Section of this website.
In December, LMHE developed this 300,000 lb capacity spreader beam for a large earth moving equipment manufacturer. This beam is equipped with a specially designed center load hook with 360 degree rotation.

What separates LMHE from our competition is our ability to offer custom lifting solutions in a timely manner. Our in-house design, manufacturing, welding, painting, and load-testing capabilities allow us to actively control the quality and delivery of your product.
Vertical (450,000 lbs.) and horizontal (600,000 lbs.) load testing certified to OSHA and ASME standards. Our Testing Department provides the capability of 100% proof testing of structural lifting devices in our facility.
LMHE provides solutions to our customer's most challenging requirements with a diverse range of tools including CAD/CAM software, manual & CNC milling machines, Lathes, CNC Plasma cutting/flame cutting equipment, and FEA software.
One Source - Design and manufacture with OHSA and ANSI certifications. LMHE primarily manufactures Lifting Devices for use between the overhead system/crane and the item to be lifted. OSHA and ANSI classify this type of "intermediate" lift as "overhead hazardous". These regulations require conformance to technical standards of design, construction by qualified personnel, and test certification, by physical proof test and other required test methods. LMHE will provide a safe and effective material handling solutions.
